Emmerdale’s Joe-Warren Plant, who plays Jacob Gallagher, is set to be embroiled in the April Windsor disappearance scandal that will air on Thursday, January 2.
Jacob is working his first shift in the A&E department when Dr Todd receives a call about a stabbing victim. Drama ensues when Jacob discovers the victim’s purse belongs to April – who has been missing since Christmas Day.
Knowing the victim, Jacob finds himself in a difficult position and struggles with whether to reveal his connection to Marlon, April’s father in the show. As Jacob takes centre stage, it reminds us of Joe’s own personal heartbreak this year after splitting from his long-term girlfriend.
With Joe once again in the spotlight, we can’t help but wonder about his life off-camera, reports Leeds Live.

Not many Emmerdale fans may know that Joe actually held two jobs while acting on the ITV soap. In addition to his TV career, he was seen pulling pints in his local village pub.
Joe gained fame as Jacob on the soap when he was just eight years old and despite earning money from an early age, he sought additional income by taking on a second job.
The 22-year-old was spotted by customers at the bar, with one onlooker telling The Sun: “Joe-Warren is a friendly lad he only joined recently so he’s just getting started. It’s not the case at all that he has left Emmerdale, he’s still very much on set. But he knows via friends the owner of the bar and offered to help out.”
Other claims to fame
Joe took part in Dancing on Ice in 2020
Aside from his soap career, Joe has also made a name for himself in other TV shows. In 2020, he took a break from Emmerdale to compete in Dancing on Ice alongside professional skater Vanessa Bauer.
The pair showed great chemistry on the ice, but their journey was cut short after Joe tested positive for Covid-19, which meant they had to withdraw from the competition.
Two years ago, Joe also participated in Ninja Warrior UK, taking a brief break from his soap commitments.
Heartbreaking split
Joe parted ways from Anna earlier this year
In his personal life, Joe recently went through a breakup with his long-term girlfriend, Anna Norton. The couple had been dating since February 2022 and had even bought a house together.
However, their relationship came to an end a few months ago, according to the Daily Star. An insider has told The Sun that the celebrity couple have decided to call it quits after encountering issues in their relationship following a joint trip to the States earlier this year.
A source shared with the publication, expressing the difficulty of the situation, “Joe and Anna are over, it’s very sad but they are still very young. It hasn’t been the amicable split they were hoping for and they aren’t speaking now at all.”
Another case of the ‘Dancing On Ice curse?’
Nicole ended things shortly after his time on the show
Forget the notorious Strictly Come Dancing ‘curse’ it appears the Dancing On Ice show might be the new concern. Joe had been in a relationship with model Nicole Hadlow, and until his appearance on the ice-dancing reality show in 2022, the pair seemed to be very happy.
However, as the competition progressed, rumours about Nicole being uneasy with the amount of time Joe dedicated to practising on the ice with his dance partner Vanessa Bauer began to circulate. Observers could not help but notice the strong chemistry between Joe and Vanessa during their performances, which stood out in the contest.
According to a Sun insider at that time, “He’s been spending hours on the ice with Vanessa and the trainers and it has been tough on them. Joe is mad for Nicole and obviously wants to make this work but it has been tough.”
Despite whispers suggesting otherwise, Nicole and Joe presented a united front when they posed together in matching attire to celebrate the actors 18th birthday, looking every bit the devoted couple.
Shortly thereafter, it was reported that Nicole had called time on their relationship, with Joe returning to live with his mother. The couple also took to social media to unfollow one another.
A source revealed to the publication: “Nicole felt sidelined and he’s done little to put her mind at ease.”
Emmerdale will be back on screens this evening on ITV1 and can be streamed via ITVX.
