Emmerdale stars’ real-life homes – from Cain Dingle’s rural retreat to Isabel Hodgins’ new pad

Emmerdale’s iconic fictional Yorkshire village is a staple of British television. Originally introduced as Beckindale until 1993, the name was changed following a tragic plane crash episode.

What appears to be a quaint farm has been the backdrop for some of TV’s most dramatic scenes, keeping viewers hooked since the rebrand. The year 2025 promises more explosive drama, with flashforward scenes hinting at plenty of action over the next 12 months, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Characters like Cain Dingle, Kim Tate and Mark Charnock are set to be in the thick of it once again in the fictional Yorkshire village. Thankfully, the actors’ off-screen lives are much less chaotic.

Emmerdale stars often give fans a glimpse into their personal lives via Instagram. From Jeff Hordley’s (Cain Dingle) countryside haven shared with Zoe Henry, to Isabel Hodgins’ new home with her fiancé, we’ve got an insight into their off-screen lives.

Here’s a roundup of the most stunning homes of our favourite Emmerdale stars, starting with Eden Taylor Draper.

It’s been an eventful year for Eden Taylor-Draper, who plays Belle Dingle in Emmerdale, as she found herself at the heart of a major plotline involving the menacing Tom King and the issue of coercive control. Her performance earned her the 2024 Inside Soap Award for Best Actress.

Off-screen, the 27 year old actress enjoys domestic bliss with her boyfriend Ed Lewis, whom she’s been dating since 2016. Their home, frequently showcased on Instagram, features stylish neutral tones and minimalist decor.

In one photo, Eden is seen relaxing in a comfy chair with a glass of wine, enjoying the tranquillity of her home.

Isabel Hodgins

Isabel Hodgins, known for her role as Victoria Sugden, has also had a significant year, with her off-screen romance with Adam Whitehead flourishing. The couple, who got engaged last year, are planning to wed in 2025.

Isabel delighted fans when she posted a picture of her new house keys with a bottle of sparkling rosé, humorously captioning it: “We are FINALLY in! ! Now I have to live with a smelly boy! “.

Adam Thomas

Adam Thomas, the former Emmerdale star who played Adam Barton, keeps his fans entertained with regular updates from his home life. The 36 year old actor, who left the show in 2018, has also made a splash as a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing.

Adam boasts a joyful family life with his wife Caroline, often sharing snippets of their personal moments on Instagram. The couple, together with their two children, recently moved into an opulent mansion in 2023.

They announced their move last year with a heartfelt post that read: “Welcome to our new home, hard work starts now.”

Chris Bisson

Chris Bisson, who has become a familiar face in the Emmerdale series as Jai Sharma since 2009, is undertaking a different sort of project off-screen. In 2022, he shared his adventure with fans: “We’ve embarked on a little family adventure… Building our forever home! It’s been a long time in the planning and we are excited to finally be making a start. I’ll be posting updates to show you where we are up to.”

Chris has regularly kept followers in the loop about the construction of their dream house, pitching in where he can.

Despite his enthusiasm, Chris revealed the sobering realities of such a venture when costs started to escalate beyond expectations. Detailing his fiscal challenges, Chris posted: “There was a lot of money simply disappearing into the ground. Plus EVERYTHING is now a lot more expensive than when we were planning the project. The steel price went through the roof – up 60% – and that’s just one element.”

As financial pressures mount, Chris foreshadowed the necessity for future sacrifices: “We’ll have to claw that back further down the line… So, in classic Grand Designs style, it’s already apparent that compromises will have to be made later.”

Jeff Hordley

Jeff Hordley, famed for his role as Cain Dingle in Emmerdale, shares a picturesque Yorkshire Dales abode with his fellow soap star spouse, Zoe Henry. The couple has embraced an eco-friendly lifestyle due to Jeff’s battle with Crohn’s disease, leading them to cultivate their own veggie plot and cook up fresh meals straight from scratch.

Their home exudes a minimalist charm, presenting a living space replete with a snug wood-burning stove and plush seating arrangements.

Amy Walsh

Amy Walsh, who plays Tracy Metcalfe in Emmerdale, tied the knot with EastEnders actor Toby Alexander-Smith in 2023, and together they welcomed their first child in 2021. Amy recently gave fans a glimpse into their welcoming living room, gleaming with festive cheer and featuring a brand-new sofa she adores.

Content with her purchase from @vintagesofa, she conveyed holiday greetings: “Christmas has arrived and so has our new sofa! We absolutely love it! Have bought pretty much every piece of furniture we own from @vintagesofa. Merry Christmas from The Smiths.”

The couple previously offered fans a sneak peek into the special nursery they’ve created for their daughter Bonnie. Amy shared: “Our nursery is almost complete! It’s only taken 9 months since we moved in! We’re actually renting at the moment until we find our dream home so decorating was tricky. My sister @salsheps gave us this gorgeous patchwork quilt she made that I decided was too nice to be sicked on so thought I’d turn it into a wall hanging and I love it! ! ! “.

Jason Merrells

Jason Merrells, the 56 year old actor best known for his role as cunning businessman Declan Macey on Emmerdale from 2010 – 2014, has kept fans guessing about when he might make his much-anticipated return to the show. His character was never killed off, sparking regular speculation among viewers.

Away from the small screen, Jason has been keeping followers updated with glimpses of his beautiful countryside property, which he expanded during last year’s lockdown. The house exudes a rustic charm, with wooden floors and floral furniture scattered around to create a cosy atmosphere.

But what really stands out is the enormous hand-built wooden treehouse in his back garden. At home, Jason indulges his love for art and even has his own studio, filled with impressive canvas paintings and other artistic equipment.
