Emmerdale legend warns fans of ‘difficult’ 2025 with challenges and opens up on dream storyline

An Emmerdale star has told fans of a ‘difficult’ year ahead packed with challenges.

Tony Audenshaw, who plays Emmerdale’s Bob Hope has teased some of his 2025 storylines. Opening up to Inside Soap, the acting star discussed Bob’s having a ‘really emotional’ 18 months following the death of son Heath and daughter Cathy’s struggles.

Tony, 60, explained: “His granddaughter April has gone missing and it’s really tough for the family at the moment. That’s going to be very dramatic and Bob is heavily involved. He’s not sleeping much and is kind of in charge of searching for her.

“It’s a bad time with that and the anniversary of Heath’s passing. Bob is in for a very difficult time. There won’t be many laughs but there will be a lot of acting challenges for me.”

On a happier note, Tony was asked about his dream Emmerdale storyline for his character. He said: “I’d really like to see Sir Cliff Richard staying at the B&B. He doesn’t have a suite name after him – you have to be a famous person from Yorkshire to earn that. That’s why we have Jane McDonald, Richard Whiteley and Dame Judi Dench.”

Tony added: “If Sir Cliff did happen to book a room at the B&B, I reckon that Bob would temporarily name a room after him.”
