Emmerdale has seemed to reveal who kills Leyla Harding – and it’s someone she knows very well.
Leyla (Roxy Shahidi) first set foot in the Dales back in 2008. And since then, she has been involved in several hard-hitting storylines and comedically fuelled performances.
From drug use to scandalous affairs, her time in the famous village has not been short of drama. The character was also famously shot by killer Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu).
However, in October, it was reported that Leyla will be killed off in an intense exit storyline that promises to leave fans shaken. The news of actor Roxy’s departure comes after a huge year in her career, which saw her take part in Dancing on Ice and ITV’s reality series Drama Queens.

Now, fans are certain the soap has dropped a huge clue as to how Leyla dies – and it’s devastating. Over in the Dales recently, Leyla’s son Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) started his placement at the A&E department in hospital.
It was a dramatic first day for Jacob though that saw him get in serious trouble for thinking a teenage stab victim that came in was missing April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan). He also had to treat on-and-off drunk girlfriend Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) and in a heartbreaking turn of events, his patient, an elderly man called Henry, died on shift.
But the drama wasn’t over for Jacob, as in Friday’s episode (January 3) his stresses continued. After stopping at the hospital for a few extra hours after his shift, a tired Jacob headed home to the village.
Fans have predicted a murder twist
But he almost ran over Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) when he arrived. A distressed Jacob was quick to apologise, before confiding in Manpreet and mum Leyla about the traumatic past 24 hours.
However, Emmerdale fans can’t help but think a dark twist is in store for Jacob. Sharing their thoughts online, viewers reckon he could play a part in Leyla’s explosive exit.
“Jacob breakdown looming?” wrote one person on an Emmerdale Facebook fan page. Someone else penned: “Probably. What if he ends up killing someone, could it be Leyla?” A third chimed in: “I definitely think he’s going to spiral so you could be right and he could be involved in his mum’s death.”
