Emmerdale fans are certain Joe Tate has something dramatic planned for his relative Noah Dingle.
Joe (Ned Porteous) made his dramatic return to the Dales last month, six years since his explosive exit. And already, he has caused plenty of drama for the village residents.
Joe showed up as part of a plot to take down Kim Tate (Claire King), with her husband Will Taylor (Dean Andrews). However, things took a dramatic turn when Will died from a heart attack after Joe revealed all.
In the aftermath of Will’s death, Kim has been left heartbroken – with Joe now sticking around, playing the caring step-grandson and claiming to be there for Kim.

However, he has sparked suspicions with Will’s daughter Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley). Joe’s return has ruffled plenty of feathers in the village too, with several residents gobsmacked to see him back in the Dales.
His half-brother Noah (Jack Downham) has demanded he wants nothing to do with him, especially after he heard Joe’s recent brutal rant about the Dingle clan. However, Joe seems keen to make things up with Noah, insisting that he wants to repair their relationship and move forward.
His return has ruffled plenty of feathers
What’s more, amid all the drama, it seems Joe is hiding a huge health secret. Last week, a scene showed Joe in his room at the B&B, and suddenly he seemed to feel unwell. He began breathing weirdly and quickly taking off his jacket, Joe suddenly ran over to the bed and began taking deep breaths.
Appearing to be in pain, he then rummaged through his bag and chucked out packets of pills onto the bed, before taking the medication he was looking for.
Fans have ‘worked out’ what Joe has got planned
Fans have since shared their thoughts that Joe could be seriously ill. However, a recent fan theory suggests the ‘real reason’ Joe is so keen to get back into his half-brother Noah’s life.
On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, one person wrote: “Joe came back because he needs some kind of transplant and is looking for a donor, which is why he’s constantly sucking up to Noah and reminding him that they’re family
“Also we saw him have some kind of medical episode and take meds,” they added. Other fans agreed, with a second person writing: “He needs a transplant I think.” A third chimed in: “He needs to leave Noah alone!”
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
