Emmerdale could be welcoming back a Dingle legend in a huge April Windsor twist.
The teenager (Amelia Flanagan) has been missing since Christmas Day – with April last seen getting in a strange car driven by a mysterious individual.
April’s disappearance came following a difficult few weeks in the Dales. After finding out the truth about her mum Donna’s (Verity Rushworth) death in 2014, April then turned to booze and drugs and clashed with her dad Marlon (Mark Charnock) – before going missing.
Since then, Marlon has been left reeling, determined to try and find out where April is, along with the rest of the village. This week though, an eerie CCTV video showing a possible sighting of April Windsor running across a street in Leeds was revealed to her family.

And following the footage, fans now reckon that April’s return to the Dales could coincide with the comeback of a former Dingle legend: Eli.
Actor Joseph Gilgun portrayed Eli Dingle on the programme, making his debut way back in 2006. As the younger brother of Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock), Eli became a firm-favourite with viewers.
He also played a part in several big storylines too, including sleeping with cousin Debbie (Charley Webb) and assisting in Alice’s (Ursula Holden-Gill) suicide. However, in 2010, Eli fled the village after a robbery.
Fans reckon Eli could make a return amid the April storyline
Following his soap exit, actor Joseph has kept himself busy. He played Woody in the This Is England series, including the 2006 movie, and TV series – a role that has bagged him several BAFTA nomination in 2012.
More recently, Joseph created and starred in the Sky comedy series, Brassic debuting in 2019. The show has since become Sky’s most successful comedy series in seven years, and stars the likes of Michelle Keegan and Ryan Sampson.

But with it being 15 years since he was last seen, viewers think Eli could return – and bring back April to the village. On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, one person wrote: “I wonder if she is with Eli. Would be good to have him back.”
Someone else agreed: “Yes absolutely bring Eli back and he can save the day.” Echoing their thoughts, a third penned: “I hope so. Eli was a great actor, and a lovable rogue!”
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
