An Edinburgh tourist spoke about his experience of loneliness while solo travelling in Edinburgh.
Vlogger Will Hayward opened up on social media shared on social media what it was like to undertake his first ever solo trip after travelling to Edinburgh post breakup.
Will said he felt lonely but that he “wanted to get out of his comfort zone” and would “definitely” solo travel again.
“Being on holiday on your own is incredibly weird,” he said.
“I booked it originally because I was seeing someone that lives here. We’re no longer together, but I thought I might as well keep the flight and just go on holiday.”

“Being on your own in a place you’re not fully comfortable is incredibly strange.
“You say ‘table for one’ and everyone looks at you, it’s so strange. There were people next to me staring. But I had a really good meal on my own.
“Later walking to the pub, I felt incredibly lonely. I hadn’t physically spoken to anyone unless it was a barman or waitress.
“It’s something I’d definitely do again. I want to do this more. I want to get out of my comfort zone.”
