Dunelm slashes price of ‘great in bed’ gadget perfect for cold weather at night

Dunelm’s savvy shoppers are beating the sudden freeze with ease this winter. It’s all thanks to a ‘wonderfully soft’ blanket that’s flying off the shelves in the January sales.

The Fogarty Soft Touch Embossed Electric Blanket is being sold for just £28 for a single bed. There are sizes to fit double (£31.50) and king-sized beds (£35) for those needing a bit more room.

With an average running cost of just 2p per hour, this snuggly blanket promises to “provide added comfort and a soft touch” for anyone lounging on top of it. Brits are being urged to “snuggle up and stay warm” as this quilted-style beauty does its thing.

As the nation grapples with a mix of snow, ice and sub-zero temperatures, there’s no better time to snap up this bargain. Dunelm’s sale has reduced it by 30% from its original price tag of between £40 and £50.

Happy customers have been raving about the blanket, which boasts a stellar 4.6 out of five-star rating. Plenty were impressed, saying their beds were “much more inviting” after warming them up for a bit with this budget-friendly device, reports the Mirror.

A shopper said: “One of the best things I’ve bought! Getting into a warm bed on a cold night is so lovely. No one will regret buying one of these, pure bliss!”

Another added: “Wonderfully soft cover to this very efficient electric blanket! I have never owned one before, but having a warm bed makes such a difference, and it helps me sleep longer.”

A third wrote: “A glimpse of luxury! A welcome company in bed on a chilly night.” Somebody else shared that this was their “first ever electric blanket” and has found it better “than leaving the heater on in very cold weather.”

However, not all feedback was glowing, with one unhappy customer bringing their blanket back to Dunelm because of one feature they thought was missing. They said: “I was disappointed with my blanket. Although it was king size, it didn’t have dual controls.”

The device comes with three heat settings – depending on your preference. It’s controlled with this slider.

Another pointed out a potential downside, warning: “We have not been used to an electric blanket before that takes such a long time to warm up to a good temperature on the top rating.” The review claimed it required “one to two hours” to feel the heat.

If you’re considering an electric blanket, there are plenty of other bargains online. For instance, the TOPS Electric Single Heated Underblanket is available on Amazon from £25.99 and Debenhams is selling the Neo Electric Heated Underblanket in its January sale with a whopping 70% off.

You can get the single version for £22, slashed from £52.99. There are bigger versions for doubles and kings too.

The Debenhams deal includes a product with dual controls, meaning you don’t have to argue over the perfect setting if you share your bed with a partner. It also has a timer feature so you can rest easily, knowing it will shut itself off safely during the night.
