The sun shall shine down on Dublin on this mid January day to help bring you over the Wednesday slump – despite signs we could have a drastic change next week.
We’re in for a mostly sunny and dry day with temperatures hitting between 10C and 12C. While tonight will bring more of the same with a slight temperature drop and some fog.
Met Eireann says: “Dry and mostly sunny today. Highest temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees with just light to moderate southerly breezes.
“Dry with clear spells and just a few mist or fog patches tonight. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 6 degrees in light to moderate southerly breezes.”
Heading into Thursday the settled conditions are going to continue although there could be a bit of rain on the way for parts of Ireland. Then the weekend will continue to be settled ahead of any “beastly” changes that could be coming our way by the end of next week.
Met Eireann continued: “Tomorrow will be dry with sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees in moderate to fresh southerly winds.
“Becoming mostly cloudy for the western half of the country tomorrow night, with clear spells further east. Remaining dry outside of the odd spot of drizzle in the west. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees in moderate to fresh southerly winds.”
An enormous Arctic storm is marching its way towards Irish shores if we’re to believe the latest projections from the Ventusky weather app, and cities across the nation including Dublin, Cork and Waterford could see snow as soon as Saturday January 25. For now, the we have more to look forward to:
Friday
Generally dry and cloudy with perhaps the odd spot of drizzle across Atlantic counties. Highest temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees in moderate to fresh southerly winds. Continuing mostly dry and cloudy overnight with lowest temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees.
Saturday
Continuing mostly cloudy and dry, with some light rain or drizzle for southern coasts. Some sunny spells are possible, likely in the east. Highest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees with moderate to fresh southeasterly winds.
Sunday
Outbreaks of rain will spread eastwards through the day, clearing to sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees with light to moderate southerly winds.
