An investigation is underway after firefighters tackled a caravan blaze at a popular Anglesey resort. The fire broke out in a static caravan off Lon Crecrist, Trearddur Bay, on Sunday night (January 12).
Three crews attended the incident at the Bagnol Caravan Park, which is within walking distance of Trearddur’s famous sandy beach. The park has 161 pitches for static caravans and also accomomodates touring caravans and motorhomes.
It is the larger of two sister sites, with a further 55 pitches for static caravans at nearby Tyn Towyn Caravan Park. A unique feature of both parks are solid wood carvings of animals, birds and statues by Australian sculptor Andy Hancock, who now lives in Texas.
At the static caravans are privately owned, it is understood the parks were empty given the time of year. A video of last night’s blaze shows firefighters in breathing apparatus tackling fierce flames amid thick acrid smoke. Sign up now for the latest news on the North Wales Live Whatsapp community
