Police have arrested 12 people following a search of 12 properties across the North West. Warrants were carried out across Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside, and North Wales as part of a NWROCU investigation into a drugs conspiracy.
Officers from the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit, with support from local forces, searched 12 properties in St Helens, Skelmersdale, Warrington, Worsley, Cheadle, and Caernarfon. During the searches they seized approximately £130,000 cash and 2kg of cocaine.
Ten men and two women have been arrested on suspicion of drugs offences including conspiracy to supply Class A and B drugs. They have been taken to local police stations for questioning.
Detective Inspector Kelly Wild from the NWROCU’s Investigation Team said: “These warrants were executed following a meticulous investigation involving months of hard work by my officers and our partner forces dismantle organised crime groups that bring misery to our local communities.
“This investigation demonstrates our unwavering commitment to cracking down on drug related activity and to anyone who is involved in this type of crime, we will catch up with you and you will be brought to justice. Drugs blight communities and we’re committed to ensuring those responsible for their distribution are brought to justice.”
