Wycombe Wanderers boss Matt Bloomfield has admitted Sonny Bradley’s “fantastic experience” was chief among the reasons for his move to the club from Derby County.
The League One promotion contenders wrapped up a loan deal for the centre-back last night and he could make his debut when the Chairboys tackle Huddersfield tonight (7.45pm)
Bradley is out of contract at Derby in the summer, but the Rams have sanctioned his departure in what is set to be an important month of arrivals and outgoings at Pride Park.
Bradley played 41 games for Derby last season as they won promotion to the Championship and Wycombe chief Bloomfield said it was an important signing to make.
“After losing Caleb Taylor back to West Brom, it was imperative for us to bring in a strong centre-half to replace him and we’re delighted to bring Sonny into the group for the rest of the season,” he said.
“He’s got fantastic experience of success at this level and will be able to hit the ground running after playing games for Derby over Christmas and the New Year.
“We’ve always been impressed with him when he’s played against us down the years and he’ll bring real leadership and quality to the backline.
“We’re in a really strong position going into the second half of the season and everyone’s working extremely hard to build on the progress that we’ve made as a club. It’s an important transfer window for us and bringing in Sonny as our first new recruit for the first-team is a hugely positive step forward.”
