Police have launched an appeal for dashcam footage after a woman was truck by a car on a Stoke-on-Trent road. Emergency services were sent to Ford Green Road, in Smallthorne, after a pedestrian was involved in a collision with a silver Honda Jazz on Monday (January 6).
She was then rushed to the Royal Stoke University Hospital after suffering ‘potentially serious injuries’. Ford Green Road was closed from Community Drive to Saturn Road at the height of the incident. The road was closed at 12.48pm before being reopened at 1.21pm.
Now Staffordshire Police are appealing for witnesses to the smash. A force spokesman said: “We were called at 12.15pm yesterday to Ford Green Road in Smallthorne, following reports of a collision. Officers attended and found a silver Honda Jazz in collision with a pedestrian.
“The pedestrian, a woman, was taken to hospital by ambulance. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is assisting with our inquiries. Anyone who saw what happened or who may have relevant CCTV or dashcam footage should contact us.”
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called to reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Ford Green Road, Stoke on Trent at 12.08pm on Monday. One ambulance responded to the scene and an off duty paramedic also stopped to render aid. The pedestrian, a woman, sustained potentially serious injuries and received treatment on scene before being conveyed to Royal Stoke University Hospital.”
