Darwin Nunez was supported as he shared a family update. The Liverpool forward could return to the staring line-up tomorrow as the Reds face Accrington Stanley in the FA Cup at Anfield.

He will miss the trip to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League next week through suspension. This is because he picked up his fifth yellow card of the season against Man United.

Away from the pitch, Nunez is in a relationship with Lorena Manas. The couple have been together since Nunez was plying his trade in Spain with La Liga side Almeria, and have a son together who is also called Darwin.

Lorena also has a daughter with ex-Barcelona star Aleix Vidal called Chloe. In his most recent Instagram post, Nunez posted a picture with his Lorena, Darwin Jr and Chloe to mark his son’s third birthday.

A translation of his caption from Spanish, Nunez said: “Happy birthday to our prince, three years filling us with happiness and endless smiles.”

The post received thousands of likes and many comments from Darwin’s close friends. Natalia Becker, wife of Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson, said: “God bless you Darwin.” Erik, a Brazilian footballer, added: “Happy birthday Darwin.”

Lorena is currently pregnant with the couple’s third child. Nunez confirmed in November she was pregnant as he celebrated his goal against Aston Villa by sucking his thumb and putting the ball up his top. In an Instagram post afterwards, he shared several pictures of the baby scan as well as snaps of Lorena and her baby bump.

He said at the time: “Words cannot express the happiness we feel for this new life we have created together, our family grows, your brothers and your parents are waiting for you with the utmost excitement to give you all the love in the world.”
