County Durham dog trainer qualifies for Crufts 2025 final with Labrador Retriever Mac

A North East dog trainer is heading to Crufts after winning the qualifying semi-final with her Labrador Retriever, Mac.

Sabina Wallace-King said she is excited to take part in world’s greatest dog show in March after being awarded first place in the Crufts Intermediate Novice ABC (Anything but Collie) semi-final, which qualified the pair for the final.

Mac – a Labrador Retriever – beat Matt Cross’ Lady Chompington, also known as Willow, to the top spot at the semi-finals at ExCeL London on Sunday.

Sabina, from County Durham, said: “I am so excited and happy that we are going to Crufts.”

Catherine Guiver, Head of Events at The Kennel Club, said: “Well done to all competing dogs and their handlers for showing great skill in the London Arena. Huge congratulations to both Sabina and Mac, and we wish them the best of luck at Crufts 2025.”
