Coronation Street’s character Betsy Swain, played by Sydney Martin, is predicted to be heading for a surprise pregnancy plot twist, with fans speculating that Mason Radcliffe isn’t the father.
Betsy, who was introduced earlier this year as DS Lisa Swain’s (Vicky Myers) daughter, has been stirring up plenty of drama on the cobbles. She got entangled with the unscrupulous solicitor Joel Deering (Calum Lill), and was also behind the robbery at Carla Connor’s (Alison King) factory by thugs Logan (Harry Lowbridge) and Matty (Seamus McGoff).
In exchange for them ceasing their threats towards her brother Mason (Luca Toolan), she allowed them to steal all the equipment. However, the situation escalated when Carla was attacked by the thugs during their escape.
Recently, Betsy has been growing closer to Mason, with Sally (Sally Dynevor) and Tim (Joe Duttine) aiding in Mason’s adjustment to his new life. In the episode aired on January 1, Mason, with romance in mind, arranged a date for Betsy at No. 4.
