Clacton MP Nigel Farage has pocketed almost £200,000 from a gold company. The Essex MP declared his new earnings in the latest register of financial interests.
The official document states Mr Farage received payment of £189,300 from Direct Bullion, a gold dealer in London. The Mirror claims Farage’s earnings from outside jobs have reached more than £570,000 in the six months since he became MP for Clacton.
Mr Farage, 60, also earns £91,000 a year from his MPs salary. His spokesman said the MP is “getting on with the job” for Clacton.

Records state the six-figure payment from Direct Bullion was received on December 5 and was for a four-hour job as brand ambassador, including some work before he was elected. The register also includes a trip to the New York Young Republicans Club between December 14 and December 17.
During this timeframe, Mr Farage posted pictures on social media of himself alongside Vice President-elect JD Vance and X owner Elon Musk. It’s not known if these were photos taken at meetings during the US trip.
The self-declaration document states his visit was for a speaking engagement. A two-night hotel stay worth more than £1,000 and return flights valued at more than £3,000 were registered.
In December Mr Farage registered a £42,000 payment from GB News for the show he presents. He also registered in January a speaking engagement that he received £520 for and £140 worth of social media work.
A spokesman for Nigel Farage said: “Since being elected in July 2024, Mr Farage is getting on with the job as Clacton’s local MP. He has bought a house in the constituency, made personal donations to multiple charity causes and writes a weekly column for the local newspaper.
