CCTV appeal after police disturb group of men in stolen van

Police are reported to have disturbed a group of men in Moreton-in- Marsh who left behind a stolen vehicle. The incident happened on January 7, and Gloucestershire police are asking residents in the area to check CCTV and report anything suspicious involving two specific vehicles in Hospital Road in the early hours.

Detail of the incident have been posted to the Your Community Alerts Gloucestershire website. It is believed the two vehicles involved would have likely been travelling in convoy before this incident.

The post by Gloucestershire police states: “We are appealing for CCTV footage which could help with an investigation into a police incident in your area.

“At approx 00:45 Tuesday January 7, police on patrol disturbed a group of males within Hospital Road, Moreton in Marsh who left the area in a vehicle similar to a dark coloured BMW X5 (possibly black) The group left behind a Ford Transit (Grey) which was later identified as a stolen vehicle from a neighbouring Constabulary.

“We ask residents across Moreton in Marsh to check their CCTV to see if it has captured these two vehicles which would have likely been travelling in convoy before this incident.

“If you have any CCTV footage, including doorbell or other video footage and/or images which could help with our investigation, we’d like to hear from you. Please complete the following online form, quoting incident 0015 of January 7, 2025.
