A car owner was left “distressed” after the vehicle was torched in an arson attack in the Waterside area of Derry on Friday morning.
The incident, in Campion Court in the Top of the Hill area of the city, was reported to the PSNI at around 6.55am.
The PSNI is appealing for anyone in the area who saw “suspicious activity” or who might have footage to come forward.

A police spokesperson, sharing a photograph showing the aftermath of the blaze in an appeal on social media, said: “This is the damage caused to a vehicle as a result of what we’re investigating as an arson attack in Campion Court in the city this morning (17 Jan), reported to us at 6.55am.
“No injuries have been reported as a result of the blaze but, understandably, this has caused distress for the vehicle owner.”
The PSNI spokesperson added: “If you were in the area, and saw any suspicious activity, or if you have relevant footage from the area from between 6.50 and 6.55am, we’d urge you to call us on 101, quote reference 217 of 17/01/25. Alternatively, submit a report via https://orlo.uk/2YWmN or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
