Two people fled the scene of a crash during the early hours of New Year’s Day, Wednesday, January 1. Emergency services were called to the scene after a car crashed into a building in Bodmin.
Police and fire crews attended around 5.40am after a car crashed along Church Square. Two people are thought to have left the scene on foot, abandoning the car, police have said.
Enquiries to identify the two people are ongoing. Officers are appealing for any information or dashcam footage which may assist their investigation to come forward.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Police were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a building on Church Square, Bodmin at around 5.40am on Wednesday 1 January.
“Emergency services attended but on arrival no one was present at the scene. The car was recovered. It is believed two people left the scene and enquiries are ongoing to identify them.

In a statement, Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews from Bodmin were in attendance at an RTC following information of a vehicle collision with a building. Crews made the vehicle safe and liaised with police on scene. There are no further details.”
