Dwr Cymru have reported a burst water main that is affecting supplies to thousands of homes. The issue is at the Bryn Cowlyd Water Treatment Works, Dolgarrog.
This is served by Llyn Cowlyd located 350m above the works in the Carneddau mountain range. It has affected homes in the Conwy Valley and parts of Conwy town.
A statement said: “Water Supply to Conwy, Henryd, Rowen, Ty’n-y-Groes, Tal y Cafn, Eglwysbach, Llanbedr y Cennin, Tal y Bont, Dolgarrog, Pentrefelin, Groesffordd and parts of Llanrwst. Welsh Water are currently dealing with a burst on a water main at the Bryn Cowlyd Water Treatment Works, Dolgarrog.
“Dŵr Cymru crews are on site and are working hard to repair the burst. They are also rerouting water through the network and tankers are being mobilised to keep as many people on supply as possible.
“The company are working to identify any vulnerable customers on their Priority Services Register in order to support them, and have contacted their affected customers directly with text messages to keep them updated.”
One householder has already reported receiving bottled water from Dŵr Cymru staff.
