Burglars flee into Derby park after property broken into as police launch appeal

Derbyshire police have launched an appeal following a burglary in a village on the outskirts of Derby. Officers were called to reports of a burglary on Saturday, January 4 after a property in Burley Lane, Quarndon, was broken into.

Police are now appealing for witnesses and information following the incident, which took place at around 5am. The offenders are believed to have travelled from Burley Lane into the neighbouring Allestree Park.

A spokesperson for Derbyshire police said: “Officers investigating a burglary at a property in Quarndon are appealing for witnesses and information. The incident occurred just after 5am on Saturday, January 4 when a property in Burley Lane was broken into.

“The offenders are believed to have travelled from Burley Lane into Allestree Park. We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the incident, as well as anyone who saw any unusual vehicles in the area or people acting suspiciously.”
