British stars' LA pads at risk of being destroyed as Dua Lipa and TOWIE icon flee homes

A number of British celebrities have been forced to flee their LA homes as wildfires continue to destroy the region.

So far, there have been 11 confirmed deaths in the tragic scenes, with thousands of people watching their homes burn to the ground. Among those sharing the tragedy is socialite Paris Hilton, who described the events as being like ‘hell on earth’.

But while A-Listers such as Anthony Hopkins and Jhene Aiko also mourn their once beloved properties, a number of famous faces from Britain have also had to flee. Among those are TOWIE star Liam Blackwell, also known as Gatsby. He took to Instagram to say things were “outta control”.

As he uploaded a video with black clouds of smoke in the background, he wrote: “This has to be a planned attack or some of these fires have to be arson—doesn’t make sense how they can keep starting in random areas! Just got a text to evacuate!! Please God, make the house and everyone else stay safe. Big up all the Firefighters!!!! #losangeles #fire #lafire #la”

His pal and son of Piers Morgan, Spencer Morgan, urged him to stay safe in the comments section. Denise Van Outen also shared a single love heart emoji, while comedian Arron Crascall said: “Please stay safe brother.”

Singer Dua Lipa was also forced to flee her LA home, describing her “scary couple of days”. As she revealed she was safe, she penned: “Absolutely devastating and scary couple of days in LA. Thinking of all my friends and the people of the city who had to evacuate their homes. I’ll be sharing some links I find for anyone who wants to help and donate to the shelters that are currently housing a lot of displaced people.”

Other UK stars to have been affected include Busted star Jame Bourne. As the fires moved closer to his property, James took to Twitter/X to give a string of updates. Firstly, he wrote: “The fires on my street have been put out.” Then, later, he added: “Major explosion on the street wtf.” Before finally adding: “Ok I’m evacuating”.

Take That singer Mark Owen also left his home as the wildfire spread. His wife Emma Ferguson issued an update saying they had been woke up by “helicopters, thick black smoke and winds howling”. On Thursday, she shared a clip on Instagram to tell her friends, family and followers she is safe.

And Kelly Osbourne also shared the scary scenes from her front door on social media.

The fires have also thrown Hollywood’s carefully orchestrated awards season into disarray this week. Awards ceremonies had been set to go ahead this weekend, but needed to be postponed due to the blazes. The AFI Awards, which were set to honour Wicked, Anora and other awards season contenders, had been scheduled for Friday.
