A body has been found on Tuesday (December 31) during the search for a missing man from Gravesend. George Passmore had been reported missing on Sunday, December 29 having last been seen in the Singlewell Road area of the town at around 10am that morning.
Police soon issued an appeal for the public’s help to locate the 29-year-old. Later on Monday evening, investigating officers released a CCTV image which showed George walking in the Coldharbour Road area of Gravesend at around 11.25am on Sunday.
Kent Police has now confirmed that a body was found this morning during a search of land near Istead Rise.

A spokesperson for Kent Police said: “Officers searching for a missing man from Gravesend have recovered a body. Police attended land near Istead Rise on the morning of Tuesday 31 December 2024 and a man was pronounced deceased.
“Formal identification has not yet taken place, however the family of a 29-year-old man from Gravesend, who was reported missing on Sunday 29 December, have been informed. The death is not currently being treated as suspicious and a report is being prepared for the coroner.”
