A group of Belfast restaurants are challenging their “haters” by offering a free meal to anyone who does not enjoy their food.
Jumon, which has a restaurant on Fountain Street in the City Centre and a newly opened premises at C.S Lewis Square off the Newtownards Road in East Belfast, has launched its new promotion where it is challenging people who would not normally try their food to come in for a meal as they believe they can change their minds.
They are encouraging people who enjoy the restaurants to bring a “stubborn friend” along during January and if they don’t like their meal there will be no charge for it.

Jumon have launched a new offer to their ‘haters’ this January
Speaking to Belfast Live, Niall Davis from Jumon said they came up with the idea as they often have people come into the restaurants who would never normally eat their food but are “blown away” by how good it can be.
He said: “At Jumon we love our haters so much that we are more than happy for them to eat for free, so if you have a stubborn friend who would normally refuse to try our food, bring them along and if we can’t sway them over they can eat for free.

“We often have people who come into the restaurant who have been dragged there reluctantly but after trying our food they are usually blown away by how good it really is.
“People who usually don’t have Jumon tend to have low expectations about what it can be like and we want to show them that when it is cooked right it really can be amazing.
“Customers will be able to get one large dish and one small and we are sure that we will be able to win over any haters with what we have on the menu.

“While it won’t be straight forward to determine who has enjoyed their food or not, and we are relying on a bit of good faith from our customers, we think it is safe to assume that if we see you finishing your plate you have enjoyed it.”
