Behind-the-scenes look as horror movie filmed in North Staffordshire

Horror movie fans are being given a behind-the-scenes look after terrifying scenes where shot in North Staffordshire. A camera crew spent the day at The Rigger live music venue, in Marsh Parade, Newcastle, as filming got underway for upcoming thriller Satan’s Cellar.

It is being created by writer and director Dan Peach and will be packed with ‘dark humour, gore, and heavy metal madness’. A Crowdfunder was launched to help meet the costs of shooting the anthology which will be made up of six shorts.

A total of £4,436 was pledged to help make Dan’s dream a reality. It will feature a cameo from metal band Lesbian Bed Death.

Sharing photos on its Facebook page, The Rigger said: “After a full day of filming at The Rigger Venue for upcoming horror movie Satan’s Cellar, we’re thrilled to share some sneak peek, behind the scenes of the killer hair and makeup transformation area (aka our pool tables).

“Satan’s Cellar is a horror anthology packed with dark humour, gore, and heavy metal madness – the first film from writer / director Dan Peach featuring Lesbian Bed Death – the perfect match for our venue’s vibe.”

The short stories will include a rock band that turns to witchcraft to win a ‘battle of the bands’ competition, a dead gangster haunting his nephew with a view to cross the veil between the living and the dead, a vampire trying to lay low by leading a relatively normal life, and a priest bitten by a werewolf torn between good and evil.
