A tragic Hogmanay crash left a BMW driver dead following a three-vehicle incident.
Paige Douglas, aged 26, tragically died in the crash that involved her BMW, along with a Mercedes Sprinter van and a Ford Focus on Standing Stane Road near Windygates around 1:05pm on Tuesday, December, 31.
The BMW’s passenger, a 22-year-old man, alongside the 46-year-old male van driver, were hospitalised at Ninewells Hospital for their injuries.
In addition, a woman aged 62 and a 63 year old man from the third vehicle involved received treatment at Victoria Hospital and have since been released.
Following the collision, police shut down the thoroughfare for investigative work but reopened it by 8am on Wednesday, January 1.
Inspector James Henry extended his sympathies, remarking: “Our thoughts are with the families of all those involved.”, reports the Daily Record.

Gemma Douglas, the sister of the deceased, expressed her heartbreak: “To my beautiful little sis Paige, I can’t believe today is real. I don’t know what to say I don’t even think I can take this in? “.
Her sorrow continued as she questioned, “I don’t understand why and I have so many questions, but I have to say I love you so much and I always will. You were the happiest you have ever been and living your best life and I’m so glad you were.”
Gemma concluded with a sombre tribute: “My life will never be the same without you, none of ours will. I love you Paige, my pink angel.”
