BBC The Traitors viewers ask ‘how’ as contestant ‘got away with it’ after first banishment

The Traitors is back on the BBC for its third series and is already causing drama following the first banishment.

Thursday night’s episode (2nd January) saw the first elimination take place, and with the drama in full swing it sent shockwaves across the roundtable. Before there was a chance to take in the news, the Traitors were preparing to carry out their second murder as they begin to whittle down the competition to increase their chances of taking home the prize pot.

Focused on avenging the first murder of 34-year-old Yin, the faithfuls had to work together to try and piece together their suspicions as the traitors sat amongst them.

Fans of the show saw faithful Nathan get voted off by fellow contestants, leading viewers to be shocked that it wasn’t traitor Linda. Linda had almost a majority of votes against her due to contestants lack of belief in her being a faithful.

Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), many viewers were shocked that Linda got away with it.

@itsabisolaa penned: “I don’t understand how Linda got away with that tbh.”

In the next episode, the show has teased that the most recent mission will leave the contestants to face a big dilemma that could alter their course in the game. As darkness falls, one more contestant will be sent home.

Traitors is on at 9pm every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
