A man in his 60s was left with a black eye and concussion after an alleged assault at a Newcastle city centre bar.
The victim was injured after being punched “several times” in Be At One on the Westgate Road in the city centre. The reported crime is said by police to have taken place on Saturday October 5 last year, between 9.30pm and 9.40pm.
Northumbria Police’s investigating officers have now released the image of a man they wish to speak to in relation to the alleged assault.
In a statement, a force spokesperson said: “Police received a report that between 9.30pm and 9.40pm on Saturday, October 5, the victim, a man in his 60s, was in Be At One, on Westgate Road in the city centre.
“A man has then punched the victim in the face several times, causing him to sustain a black eye and concussion. A number of lines of enquiry have been carried out by officers since the report was first made.”
The man is understood to have been in the area at the time, and the police believe he may be able to assist with their enquiries.
The man, or anyone who recognises him, is asked to send Northumbria Police a direct message on social media, by using the force’s website. You are also able to call 101. Anyone with information is asked to quote crime reference number 118271G/24.
