Speeding is a ‘huge concern’ for locals who live along a stretch of busy road in Coventry. Police have admitted that they have received pleas from residents to tackle the issue on Clifford Bridge Road.
So officers from the Stoke and Wyken teams have been out carrying out speed checks along the road. This was aimed at catching those breaking the law – and putting lives at risk
“We know speeding on Clifford Bridge Road is a huge local concern,” Coventry Police said. “Officers have been out conducting speed checks.”

Clifford Bridge Road has hit the headlines for a different reason in recent weeks – as trees are due to go. There was outrage when Coventry City Council agreed to forge ahead with felling trees on Clifford Bridge Road as part of a new cycleway project.
Demonstrations had taken place to save the trees but the council agreed to axe 26 trees to make way for a two-way track, with work set to start next year.
