Alton Towers announces return of family favourite for half term

Alton Towers has announced the return of a half term event which is a firm favourite with families. The ‘Pirate Takeover’ will return to the resort between February 15 and 23, with prices starting from £15 per person. For a limited period, the resort will be transformed into a pirate-themed playground.

Guests can book to watch live entertainment and a selection of family rides and attractions, including family-friendly CBeebies Land. There are also short breaks available from £49 per person this February half-term.

Special attractions at the pirate party include ‘Seadog Starkey’s Sailing School’, which takes families on “an exciting adventure across the high seas”. Visitors can also take part in a quest to “locate the long-lost treasure of Mutiny Bay” in a treasure hunt.

Guests will notice the park transformed in some of the main areas, including Towers Street, Mutiny Bay, the Alton Towers Hotel, Splash Landings Hotel and the CBeebies Land Hotel. The resort has also announced a short breaks offer for the 2025 season, alongside the return of late-night event, Alton After Dark.

Alton Towers also announced a short breaks deal for 2025 where kids ride for free. The Kids Ride Free deal also includes access to the Resort’s award-winning event, Alton After Dark, returning on select dates from the March 15 to 29.

Prices quoted by Alton Towers are based on a break in the February half term, with day tickets available from £15 per person and a £49 lead price for an overnight stay based on two adults and two children staying at Splash Landings between February 15 and 23.

The kids ride for free offer is valid between January 1 and 26, for any stay dates between March 15 and July 17.
