While Lainya prefers to keep out of the spotlight, Shearer has shared some humorous stories involving her over the years. On The Rest is Football podcast, he recounted her reaction to his 1992 transfer to Blackburn – for a then English record of £3.3million – while she was heavily pregnant: “When she was eight months pregnant… she looked at me in the car and said, ‘What the f*** have you done? ‘”.
But while she keeps a low profile, the rest of the Shearer clan have definitely made their mark online with their social media prowess. Shearer’s family boasts some significant numbers with son Will securing 16,000 followers on Instagram, while daughters Chloe and Hollie command 20,000 and a staggering 82,000 respectively.
Singing sensation Hollie isn’t just wowing her fans on Instagram; she’s also a hit on Spotify with her top song amassing around 1.5 million plays. Plus, she’s taken TikTok by storm, sharing her fashion and lifestyle inspirations to nearly 335,000 followers.

Chloe is making waves in the world of talent management, having lent her skills to the likes of Soccer Aid, while both she and sister Hollie share a penchant for rugby players when it comes to love. Hollie’s relationship with England rugby star Joe Marchant took a huge turn when he proposed under the Parisian glow of the Eiffel Tower last November. The couple, who confirmed their romance in April 2022, are now enjoying domestic bliss in France where he continues his career.
As their relationship flourished, Shearer noted his daughter’s growing interest in rugby over football. When it comes to his potential son-in-law, the former Newcastle legend humorously conceded he’s “just glad it’s not a footballer” but made it clear he’s all for Hollie’s choice.

On the other hand, Chloe is currently in a relationship with former scrum-half Micky Young. The 35 year old had two stints at Newcastle Falcons before leaving the North East club last year to spend his final year at Gloucester.
In August, it was announced by Newcastle that Young would be honoured with a testimonial year, featuring a football dinner event with none other than Shearer himself.
