A sliproad onto the A12 has been shut in Essex due to flooding across the carriageway. National Highways has advised drivers to avoid the slip road at junction 13 in Ingatestone due to major flooding.
Crews from National Highways are attending the scene on the slip road to try and clear the flood water from the carriageway. However, it is not yet known how long this will take and the slip road remains fully closed.
A spokesman for National Highways said: “J13 northbound entry slip road at Ingatestone in Essex is closed due to flooding. Pumping is underway and tankers will be onsite this afternoon to help remove the water.

“Please plan ahead and allow extra time for journeys.” The northbound slip road from the A12 to junction 13 is still open, as are both slip roads on the southbound carriageway.
Traffic is coping well, but motorists are being advised to allow extra time for travelling and plan their routes around the closure.
