Ringing in the new year can come in a number of different ways.
Whether you prefer to sit at home watching Jools Holland or the London fireworks, or if you’d rather party the night away with friends – there’s nothing better than a celebration with loved ones. As we say goodbye to 2024, the new year is rearing its head and the start for fresh opportunities and a clean state.
But how do you plan to see in 2025? In Lancashire, there are a number of events and activities, from family friendly shows to live music acts in your local pub or club. Unfortunately, bad weather has meant the cancellation of one of the biggest events in the county – Blackpool’s New Year’s Eve party. The event included a fireworks display, fairground rides, ice skating, food and drink stalls and a projection show.
Although this particular event has been stalled, many are still going ahead as planned. Here’s a list of some of Lancashire’s events for New Year’s 2024:
Artisan Café and Wine Bar – Bridge Street, Darwen
A popular café and wine bar in Darwen is holding The Haynets’ New Year’s Eve Extravaganza. Starting at 7pm, the celebrations include a performance from The Haynets a dynamic guitar duo who will take punters on a musical journey through the decades.
The event will also include a buffet and special midnight countdown. Tickets are priced at £15 which includes your first drink, the buffet and live music.
Barton Manor Hotel – Garstang Road, Barton
If you’re looking to celebrate the new year with some elegance, then the Barton Manor Hotel is the best way. For just £50 per person, guests can enjoy a decadent menu, served from 1pm to 8pm on New Year’s Day.
Highlights from the menu include a wild mushroom soup, oven-roasted hake and a decadent sultana and apple crème brûlée. There are limited tables available, but you can visit their website to find out more.
Decade by Decade at The Circle Bacup – Fern Street, Bacup
Going on a music journey through the decades, The Circle promises to offer a very interesting start to 2025. Starting from the 1970s, the musical trip will lead you to the present day, with live performances of your favourite hits.
What’s more, there will also be stilt walkers and epic fire shows, as well as DJ tunes and a luxury buffet. The event begins at 7pm and costs £50 per person for those over the age of 14.
Ribby Hall entertainment – Ribby Road, Kirkham
Ribby Hall spa and resort are putting on a number of events for this New Years. This includes the Boomin Bingo New Year’s Eve Party at the Woodland, including prizes, dance-offs, karaoke and bingo games.
At the Rowan, there will be a vocal trio called Unity performing. The three exceptional male tenors offer a unique experience and a mixture of children’s entertainment make it fun for all the family.
The Hive is offering a Night with Ribby Hall Village Friends, including a musical journey through years of Pop and Rock classics. There are also dances, bingo, raffle and other games too.
Finally, Harrison’s Bar will be putting on entertainment in the form of live music from the Key-Tars. The group are a versatile all male party trio featuring guitars and keyboards. You can also enjoy a Papa John’s pizza to your table and if this couldn’t get better, the event is free to attend.
Tickets for the paid-for events are £24.95 for adults and £15.95 for children, with under 4’s going free. The event is on from 6pm until 12.30am and food will be served between 6-9pm.
Ska Face at the Station Pub and Grill – Station Square, Lytham
Ska Face are a ten piece ska band based in Blackpool, who will be performing at the Station Pub and Grill this New Year’s Eve. The event will begin at 9.30pm and carry on way into the morning, ending at around 1am.
Tickets are priced at £10, as well as a £1.25 booking fee.
Vibe Lancaster – Dalton Square, Lancaster
Vibe Nightclub and Bar is offering a different kind of NYE than those on the list – but one that’s bound to be filled with dancing a good music. Starting from 10pm, the club will be playing a month-by-month recap of the year’s biggest hits.
There will also be free fizz for the first 100 customers, dancers, freebies and much more. VIP tables are on offer too, starting at £160. Final release tickets are at a cost of £12, with a £1.20 booking fee.
Viva Blackpool – 3 Church Street, Blackpool
A New Year’s Eve Gala Spectacular, Viva are putting on a party to see in 2025. Viva hosts popular cabaret shows in the seaside town and for New Years, will be hosting dinner and a show.
On their last show for 2024, Viva states: “Bring in 2025 in the best possible way. Enjoy food, drink and amazing entertainment all under one roof! Join us for an unforgettable gala New Year’s Eve celebration in Blackpool. Celebrate the new year with style and sophistication at our Blackpool New Year’s Eve event.”
