Schools across the Leeds remain shut today following snow on Sunday and throughout the night on Monday morning (January 6).
Leeds City Council has confirmed that 26 city schools will either not open or have later and restricted opening hours today. It comes as children and staff struggle to make it into school because the weather has made it too difficult to travel.
It will mean many parents face a scrabble to arrange childcare and an extra two days off for some pupils following the end of th Christmas holidays.
The most exteme weather has passed but it follows a rare amber warning by the Met Office for the whole of last Sunday.
