25 counties in the UK face snowfall next week – as flurries of the white stuff RETURN to the country amid a bitterly cold January. Maps and charts from WX Charts, which uses Met Desk data, shows flurries accumulating across the country on Monday, January 13.
Maps show up to 14cm expected in 25 UK counties by 6am – including 16 in England – with Invernessshire and the Scottish Highlands worst-hit. It comes as the UK Health and Security Agency (UKHSA) cold heat-health alert lasts until tomorrow (Tuesday, January 14).
Snow is set to hit Ross and Cromarty, Aberdeenshire, Dumfriesshire and Perthshire, and England won’t be spared either. Cumbria faces a dusting, alongside Lancashire, Northumberland, Yorkshire, Cheshire, Derbyshire, Shropshire, Herefordshire, and Nottinghamshire.

Cloudier in the north with outbreaks of rain and drizzle.

Looking to Tuesday (January 14), it adds: “Largely cloudy and dry for most, although outbreaks of drizzle will continue across western hills. Some brighter spells are possible in southern England and eastern Scotland. Mild for many.”
And the outlook for Wednesday to Friday adds: “Largely dry, although outbreaks of rain and strong winds will push across western Scotland at times. Largely cloudy and mild with fog occasionally forming in the south.”
